This print is part of Yoshitoshi's famous series "100 Aspects of the Moon" which depicts scenes from traditional Chinese and Japanese history and lore. Gen'I (1536-1602), a wise priest and shrewd and successful politican relaxes at Kameyama Castle in Tamba Province. The accompanying poem reads, "Usually I dislike a cloudy sky - tonight I realize that it makes me appreciate the light of the moon".
