"Photograph of the Forth Bridge under construction, general view taken from the east end of South Queensferry. We have here a view taken in the vicinity of Queensferry Station. It embraces the three cantilevers, the northern approach viaduct, and a few spans of the latter on the south side. The foreground is again comprised chiefly of foliage, the Queensferry superstructure standing out well against the distant hills. Respecting the progress of the work, Fife and Queensferry cantilevers are at their full height, and that at Inchgarvie 200 feet above water level."
