It is the scene in which Ambrogiolo, introduced to the Geneva Chamber, observes her while she sleeps to deceive her husband (Giovanni Boccaccio, 'Decameron', giornata II, novella 9). Mino Maccari is one of the most representative figures in the history of Italian art of the Twentieth Century. Expert in the various painting techniques (watercolour, oil, drawing, etching and linoleography) has the theme of costume analysis, among which erotomania and the 'world in ontura'(Longhi).
