Pair of ivory white satin shoes with upcurved, pointed toes and Louis heels, about 1730. The heels are made from white kid and covered in ivory satin with a band of ornate silver braid applied down the centre. The shoes are made straight and are decorated with narrow applied silver-gilt braid. There is a rand of leather covered in white satin between the vamp and the sole. The straps are also ivory satin and buckle over a high tongue which is edged in thick white silk and looped silver braid. The tongue is covered with pale blue satin on the underside.
