Marine astronaut and mission Commander Gerald Carr wore this flight jacket and trousers on Skylab 4, the third manned Skylab mission from November 1973 to February 1974. The mission set an endurance record for space flight and Carr participated in three of the crew’s four space walks outside the Skylab.
Carr's flight jacket and trousers are on loan to the National Museum of the Marine Corps (NMMC) from the National Air and Space Administration. The artifacts are on display in the Spaceflight: The Marine Astronauts exhibition at NMMC through January 2024.
