Girl and Roses

One of the flowers that Chihiro, who was known as “a painter of flowers and children,” continually painted both frequently and in various expressive ways, was roses. In this illustration we see a girl ready for her first day of kindergarten. The special atmosphere of the girl in her best clothes and her velvet-like dress complement the image of roses and the soft textures of the petals.
