The central ceiling fresco of the Great Gallery represents the glorification of the ‘Monarchia Austriaca’. Enthroned at its centre are the imperial couple Maria Theresa and Franz I Stephan surrounded by personifications of a ruler’s virtues. Arranged in an oval around this central group are allegorical representations of the most important Crown Lands of the Monarchy.
