The lid of this ewer is deocrated with full lotus shape. The ewer has a long and narrow neck, a drum shaped belly and a long and curved spout on the upper part and a curved handle, and it has a chain to connect the body and the lid, to avoid missing the lid. And it has an everted foot. The body motif are refined and delicate, which shows the powerful Tang culture and high standard decoration craftsmanship. The total style of this object is very coherent, and it is incised with floral and scroll designs. The belly part can be seperated into three parts, the middle part has Xichi mandarin ducks decoration. The Xichi mandarin ducks are surrounded with flowers, and they come out in pairs. Five colored feather normally appears on their body and can often be seen on the objects of Tang Dynasty.
