Though they are typically a one-piece dress, this blouse is part of a two-piece chèung sāam Cantonese opera costume. It is heavily embellished with gold, copper, silver, and yellow sequins and bugle beads, primarily in a lotus pattern. The blouse opens completely along the right side is secured with metal snap fasteners all the way up to the high, stand-up collar. The hem is rounded and the sleeves are cropped.
