Obiora Udechukwu, born in 1946 in Agulu, Nigeria, was profoundly influenced by uli murals and the Biafran War. Educated in colonial-era schools, he transferred to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, during the Civil War. There, he earned his MFA and explored Igbo uli art, shaping his distinctive style.

This work represents the artist's exploration of watercolor as a medium. Upon closer examination, a poem can be discerned in the background, highlighting the interplay between poetry and visual art—two distinct yet complementary forms of creative expression.
