Govardhanlalji

GOVARDHANLALJI: Govardhanlalji (1862-1934) was a connoisseur of the arts and lived in Nathdwara, a holy town in Rajasthan. The town is not only famous for the temple of Srinathji, a form of Lord Krishna, but is also the center for the Nathdwara school of painting. Nathdwara was ruled by a prince called a Tilkayat. Govardhanlalji assumed the office of a Tilkayat when his father, Tilkayat Girdharji passed away in 1877. Tilkayat Govardhanlalji was therefore a very prominent personality in Nathdwara.
