This is a precious and extravagant spear which has a relief of the grand dragon,the incarnation of a B uddhism deity,on its blade that is about 80cm long and its hilt is covered with mother-of-pearl inlay. It is said that Tahei Mori,a vassal of the Kuroda family, was given this spear by Masanori Fukushima,a w arlord,in return of drinking up from a huge vessel. It is a famous episode that is applied to "Kurodabushi," a folk song.
