While they are typically a one-piece dress, this skirt is part of a two-piece chèung sāam Cantonese opera costume. The skirt’s front and back panels are heavily embellished with green, gold, and silver sequins and beads in a floral pattern. The ivory-coloured side inserts are pleated with green sequined embellishments near the bottom. The white waistband is reinforced with heavy blue fabric and ties at the sides.
