This silk, tulle, and lace gown features a hallmark decoration of Lady Duff-Gordon’s work: sprays of flower applique. The various shades of pink and red used to create the flowers coordinate with the multi-hued banding on the bodice. The silver thread used to accent the flowers is also used on the beige underdress, creating a through-line between layers. The layers of lace and tulle on the underskirt add even more texture to the gown, creating visual interest with the myriad colors, shapes, and the shimmer of silver. An asymmetrical gather at the waist forms a point of interest. A large bow on the back of the dress completes the gown.
