Green Mountains and Waters

This is a new type of refined artistic applique painting that has developed on the basis of traditional Chinese folk “cloth-pasted painting”. Taking advantage of the natural colors and textures of cloth, the artisan cut cloth into patches with scissors and then paste onto a flat foundation, ending up with applique works of various styles including oil painting, ink painting, fine brushwork painting, etc. Such a handmade manner with cloth as the sole material prevents the appearance of printing or ink traces which might be seen in traditional cloth-pasted pieces.
