The Women’s Section was the female branch of the Spanish Falange political party (Falange Española Tradicionalista y de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional-Sindicalista) founded in 1934. It was disbanded with the advent of democracy in Spain. Led by Pilar Primo de Rivera, it was the only women’s organization during Franco’s dictatorship. When the Spanish Civil War ended, the Women’s Section was reorganized and divided into subsections. One of its remits was to provide social assistance and education for young women, using a model based on traditional Catholic values, in which the role of women was limited to being good Christians, mothers, wives, and Falangists. Provincial Delegation of the female section of Huelva.
