Biography of Hanna Charag-Zuntz:
1915 Born in Hamburg
1935–1936 Studies with Siegfried Möller, Kupfermühle and Gudrun Schenk, Stuttgart
1936–1938 Professional school for ceramics, Teplitz-Schönau
1938 Visits Palestine but is forced to leave by Palestine Mandate authorities;
returns to Hamburg
1938 Obtains a work visa to Great Britain
1940 Immigrates to Palestine, first working with Hedwig Grossmann in Jerusalem
1945 Sets up own studio in Haifa, focuses on architectural ceramics
1949–1951 Ceramics therapy with war veterans, later sets up ceramic workshops for
adults with disabilities
1956 First prize for ceramics, Bezalel Museum, Jerusalem
1958 Participates in the Brussels World‘s Fair
1964 Founding member of the World Crafts Council (UNESCO)
1972–1973 Exhibits in Japan
1979 Professor of Art, University of Haifa
2007 Dies in Haifa, Israel
