The Hanukkah lamp has the form of two overlapping rings. A baluster-shaped candleholder for the helper light (shamash) sits at one point of intersection. Flat-topped, rimmed, hemispherical forms serve the other eight candles. Four of these small forms are set on each of the outer sides of the two rings. The form of the yellow, glazed lamp is strongly accentuated by bold lines painted in a saturated, black glaze.
