The Centenary Project

The Centenary Project
Lagos, Nigeria

The construction of the headgear is done first with hair extensions, tapoline and foam. The beads are then sewn unto it. The smaller bead is rubber, made in China. The larger bead is called Popo and Seigy from Bida in Niger State. It is worn by royalties, as a costume and for wedding engagements in the Yoruba, Benin and Ibo culture.
