Home from the shoot

This painting does not reveal, that we have a family of artists in front of us. Michael Ancher – an avid hunter – has painted a portrait of himself accompanied by his wife, the painter Anna Ancher and daughter, Helga Ancher. The family is returning from a shoot on the moors outside Skagen. Like both her parents, Helga Ancher would later become an artist.
