The dining room in the New York apartment designed by Paul Rudolph for psychotherapist Joanna Steichen, who also manages the files of her late husband, photographer Edward Steichen. The white wall is broken up by a large arched window; the mantel of the fireplace extends along the whole wall; potted plants sit around the room; two white bean bags sit on the open floor; a banquette with tan cushions and throw pillows sits in the background; the white Formica Parsons dining table fills the foreground, set with silver, glass, and long taper candles and surrounded by Eames bent plywood chairs. Brancusi's "Bird in Space" sculpture sits on a pedestal in front of the window.
