Many steel companies produced small cartoons and simple comic strips they would post in the workplace or publish in company magazines. While these strips could cover a variety of topics (all approved by management, of course), many focused on lessons about safety with a small, moral lesson. This strip, from a 1947 issue of US Steel News, is typical of these kinds of cartoons. Like many of these cartoons, this piece was created by an amateur artists, a crane operator named Percy Raymond Toy.
