Hypolimnas salmacis, Blue Diadem

Blue Diadems are found throughout Africa, mainly in secondary and disturbed forests. The adult males perform a feeding behaviour known as mud-puddling, where they gather together in large groups to feed on wet soil, rotting fruits and even animal tears!
