In 2020, the Zaragoza School of Violinmaking created the Ibero-American Network of Violería Schools with the aim of creating an international network for the protection, dissemination and production of this type of musical instrument. The network is configured as a group of public and private entities that wish to collaborate in the creation of an organized structure to cooperate and achieve a corporeality recognized by the cultural policies of the countries involved. The networks are proposed in different fields, promoting local specificities, but at the same time recognising the historical and cultural links that began in the 16th century. The geographical coverage is very wide, including Spain, Portugal, the whole of Latin America, the Philippines and the Moluccas. The aim of this network is to strengthen the sector and promote its competitiveness; to ensure the quality of teaching; to use digital tools and technologies capable of extending its influence throughout the world; to promote the transnational circulation of specialised teachers; to channel grants and scholarships for students; to raise awareness of the need to instil environmentally friendly practices in students; and to promote the cultural importance of musical instruments of Iberian and Latin American origin. Institutions from Mexico, Bogotá, Argentina, Brazil and Portugal have already joined the network.
