Climate changes’ history is written on ice… That means, in an “ice core”. The several layers contained in these samples are like pages of a book. Each layer corresponds to a historical age, which climatic composition has been “imprisoned” inside the ice. These samples are easy to “read” in Antarctica and Greenland, while in temperate areas - where the ice melting during the summer mixes pages and words - these ice cores are hard to read.
