Ice “stalk”, rock “cap”, it prefers cold environments at high latitudes or altitudes. This is the glacial mushroom, a weird formation (which is not edible), generated from the collaboration between sun and rocks which have been absorbed by the glacier: on one hand they protect the ice below them from the sun – forming “the stalk” – meanwhile the sun melts the surrounding ice, setting “the cap” free.
