    1981 March 31 Letter from Riordan given to me. April 1-2 Mandela documentary: BBC producer Frank Cox, who made the TV drama documentary on editor Donald Woods escape from SA, is planning a T.V. drama documentary on N.M. for filming in June. Casting for white & black South African actors starts in June. The programme will run for 50 minutes & will be part of a series of 3 on the subject of human rights. The programme will be filmed on a mock-up Robben-Island somewhere in Britain. 3 Thambi Bishop Tutu speaks to in Committee Room of House of Commons at culmination of Release M. campaign. Present Michael Foot, David Steel. Petition endorsed by 94 MPs, 25 peers, 50[?] leading church-man including 19 bishops, & 98 professors, 500 organisations representing estimated 12,000 000
