Inauguration preparations at Capitol

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and security concerns, in-person ceremonies for the Biden-Harris inauguration were scaled down. Instead it was planned as a mostly virtual, nationally televised event. On January 20, 2021, Kamala Harris would make history, becoming the first female, first Black, and first South Asian American vice president in US history.
