The systematic revision of the archives and other source documents was a constant in the life of José de la Torre y del Cerro. His legacy, a veritable treasure trove, is a voluminous indexing system with thousands of cards organized into categories. Small stacks of various cards containing valuable data, a vital reference source for any self-respecting researcher of all things Cordoban, including its people: slaves, Italians, sculptors, silversmiths, and Cordobans who travelled to the Americas, etc.
