L'Interieur de l'Ille de Magerö près du Cap Nord

A lake surrounded by mountains. A smaller lake on the top of one mountain. This is chart XLIX from Skjöldebrand's "Voyage pittoresque au Cap Nord". Skjöldebrand was a Swedish nobleman, officer, writer and an artist, who travelled thru Finnmark at the beginning of the 1800s when the Swedish crown was interested in the local copper resources in the region. He is one of many artists who travelled to Northern Norway to paint popular exotic motifs like the North Cape on Magerøya.
