Interview with Dumisani Mwandal

Mr. Mwandal was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Robben Island. He served five and half years from 1986-1991, he was released in 1991 just before the political negotiations in South Africa began. Many political prisoners were released at that time.

"When I was released from this prison I couldn't talk about our experiences behind bars. But when I started working here, it was like I opened up. I could talk about many things that happened around here. To me, it was helpful."
