Pablo Serrano created this sculpture in 1957. In the same year he signed the manifesto for the foundation of the legendary El Paso Group. It forms part of the series Irons (Hierros), the first series he created in Spain after returning from his period in America. To create this series he became completely immersed in informalist abstraction, and it also established him as an internationally renowned artist. Based on the idea of order in chaos, Serrano elaborates this work by soldering distinct pieces of scrap iron, highlighting the contrast between lines and profiles to introduce space and the sensation of rhythm.
