Ismail Samani Mausoleum, built at the turn of the IX-X century according to legend, was erected by Ismail Samani, the founder of the Samanid state. Later, the mausoleum became the family tomb of the Samanids: Ismail himself was buried there, and then Ismail's grandson. The walls of the building inside and out are treated with patterned brickwork, creating a rich chiaroscuro texture of the walls, which gives a certain lightness to the building.
