Simon Drauth the Elder lived between 1615 and 1664 and was the mayor of Brasov (1664). The painting depicts him wearing a long dolman made of dark blue postav, ornamented in the chest area with golden bumbi and beni (brandenburgs), trimmed with gold string and tied at the waist with a red silk cord, expertly knotted. This portrayed figure is complemented by the long cape-like cloak of the same dark postav. A strip of fur is attached to the hem, and the top is decorated with two wide bands embroidered with gold thread, with two bumbs and bands for binding. On the back of this cloak one can also see the so-called felső, a fur-lined cape hung over the shoulders.
