This is a portrait of comedian Jacob Haugaard (born 1952.) He was a Member of Parliament from 1994 to 1998. He stood for election as a representative of 'The Association of Consciously Work-Shy Elements'. One of the promises he made during his campaign was to guarantee more downwind on cycle lanes. Haugaard's election to parliament was also unusual in that he was elected to a supplementary seat without being a member of a political party eligible for nomination. He is shown in the painting sitting at his empty desk in the Warehouse wearing a suit made from Brazilian coffee sacks.
