Jahangir had special interest in Arts which is reflected in his Coinage also. He increased his weight of Muhar and rupee by 20% and gave it a new name Nur Jahani and Jahangiri respectively. In the same year weight of his coin was further increased by 5%. The new zodiac coins were introduced by him which appeared every month. It carried the constellation of the month in which it was minted.

Jahangir’s heavy coin of unit 1000 muhar is now world’s heritage. He minted new coins of value 100, 200, 500 & 1000.
