Lady Jane, also known as the Nine Days' Queen, and her husband, Lord Guildford Dudley, were imprisoned in the Tower of London and executed in February 1554 having been found guilty of high treason.

From 'The Tower of London' a historical romance by William Harrison Ainsworth (1805-82) published in 1840.
