Japanese doll with composition face, hands, and feet. Dressed in red kimono with shuttlecock paddle painted and covered in fabric flowers stuck in the obi in back, evidently a New Year's costume. Mounted on a wooden board. Presented to Eleanor Roosevelt in 1953 in Japan by the New Japan Broadcasting Co. Ltd., the Meiji Mutual Life Insurance Co., and Mrs. Keiko Tokonami, President of Holy Friend Home (Seiyu Home), Asagaya, Suginamiku, Tokyo. FDR Library Museum Collection, MO 1955.75.
