A blue-and-white porcelain jar and cover. A broad ovoid potiche with short neck and unglazed base; the cover a low dome with spreading rim and blue pointed ball knob. The sides are painted in two registers, with eight pointed panels to each containing flower sprays, alternately, of lotus and peony, some with perching birds. Below each register are petal borders, with lotus sprays round the neck. The cover is decorated to match.
