Morphe
Balamand, Lebanon

A reddish-beige jar with a tapered base, ovoid body and shoulder, short neck and rounded lip. It flaunts horizontal ribbings from base to neck. The upper two ribs are perforated with incised dots. Traces of mustard glazing can be seen in some areas of the outer surface, while the neck shows traces of the white clay restoration deposit. It was used for olive oil storage, but could also store grains, arak, molasses, and wine.
