Over 500 different fabrics were used for the Mariner’s Compass, flowers, and buds in this quilt, along with over 2,000 yards of quilting thread. Candy’s inspiration comes from a pattern titled "Egyptian Lotus Flower" found in "Romance of the Patchwork Quilt" by Rose G. Kretsinger and Carrie A. Hall.
