The Jr. Express Wagon is a miniature of Studebaker's medium-size freight wagons. A separate catalogue featured heavy wagons designed to haul lumber and coal, specialty working vehicles such as ice wagons and street sprinklers, and light express wagons suited to businesses transporting bakery and dairy products and general merchandise.

The painting and decoration of this children's wagon is similar to its model. By removing the seat, the wagon could be loaded and pulled along by the shafts.
