The Jury in 2005 included both new a familiar faces. Joining for the first time were Polish pianist Krzysztof Jablonski, the bronze medalist of the 1985 International Chopin Competition; Kevin Kenner, the only American to win medals at both the International Chopin and Tchaikovsky Piano Competitions in the same year; Tatiana Shebanova, the Russian pianist who won the silver medal at the 1980 International Chopin Piano Competition along with special prizes for best Polonaise and Concerto; and Tian Ying, an awarded American pianist who had recently been named a professor at the University of Miami. Returning jurors were Agustin Anievas, Chairman, Gersende de Sabran, Janusz Olejniczak, Ruth Slenczynska and Susan Starr.
