Juscelino Kubitschek

Juscelino Kubitschek (1912-1976) was the last President of the Republic to occupy the Palácio do Catete. Before the transfer of the federal capital of the city of Rio de Janeiro to Brasília, in 1960, a decree signed by JK transformed the Palácio do Catete into the Museu da República.
