From the young age of five, he would accompany his father, Dola Khan, to visit their Jajman and rapidly picked up Sufi music by his ear. He performs both in the Sindhi Dhati language as well as Marwadi folk lore, but is an acknowledged artist of Sufi music. He has performed in various countries such as London, Australia, Dubai and others. His work in Bade Diwana, Chote Diwana is also recognised widely.

  • About the craft: Manganiyars are hereditary communities of traditional folk musicians living mostly in the Barmer and Jaisalmer districts of western Rajasthan. Their music has survived decades owing to the Jajmani system which is fundamental to their art form and also a source of livelihood. The repertoire of Manganiyar music covers qawwali, sufi songs, bhajans and songs on life cycle, rituals, festivals. The community's identity instrument is the Kamaicha.
