“I know you want it, but you're never going to get it” sang Katrina Kaif wrapped in a satin bedsheet in Sheila Ki Jawani ʼ(Sheila's youth). It was not just raucously popular; it killed the very moral compass that defined the Virgin vs. Whore syndrome. Instead, the Mae West truism ruled: good girls go to heaven; bad girls go everywhere. In gold harem pants, and striptease blouse, Sheila declared sexual ownership and unapologetic body-worship; and kickstarted an era where women didn't need men to objectify them; they did it themselves.
