This film was musical mega hit from Lahore,cited as trend setterof Hindi-Urdu film music, also set a standerd for sound mixing and editing. The royalty recieved from sell of records was more than production cost. Dholak was used for the first time in Hindi films. 'Saawan ke Nazare hain' based on Manjh Khamaj and 'Naino ke Baan ki reet' on Pahadi and Yamani Bilawal became instant hit. Shamshad Begum found her foothold in Hindi cinema with this film.
