There were different types of khuti in this house: stone peacocks, parakeets with sharper beaks and narrower heads, and those carved from wood. This parakeet shaped khuti was painted in a bright green oil paint against a red wall; these colours were used throughout the house to paint the wooden architectural features and other vernacular furniture.
