Title page of the New York publication of 'Kidnapped' by Robert Louis Stevenson. Originally published in serialised form in 'Young Folks' literary magazine, the novel became one of Stevenson's most popular works.

'Kidnapped' details the adventures of 16-year old David Balfour, who is orphaned and then sold to the captain of a slave ship by his dastardly uncle. He meets Scottish rebel Alan Breck and the two are flung together on an adventure across the Scottish Highlands.
