LeRoy Howard worked at Parker Brothers game manufacturers in Salem, Massachusetts. He was promoted to the position of editor in 1933 by George Parker's son-in-law, Robert Barton. Howard served as the firm's only game designer and development manager for many years, and advised both Parker and Barton through the purchase and development of the game Monopoly. Howard helped develop other successes such as Clue! and Risk in later years, often relying on fellow Parker employees as play testers.
Howard kept records related to Parker's acquisition of Charles Darrow's Monopoly game and also related to Elizabeth Magie Phillips's Landlord's Game and her other games. This copy of King's Men came from his files.
